The Railway Computer RML-R 82, built on Intel’s x6000E series (Elkhart Lake), delivers nearly double the computing power of its predecessor while maintaining similar energy efficiency. Designed for modern rail applications, it supports real-time operations through Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), ensuring it is equipped for the demands of future railroad technologies. This robust rolling stock computer offers versatile connectivity with serial COM interfaces and optional expansion for digital I/O or analog inputs. It complies with EN50155, class S2, featuring a power supply backup of at least 10 milliseconds during outages. Additionally, it adheres to stringent standards for shock and vibration resistance, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and electrical insulation as outlined in EN61373. Fire safety is assured with compliance to EN45545-2, the fire protection standard for railway vehicles. The RML-R 82 is equipped with a galvanically isolated power supply, supporting a wide DC input voltage range from 16.8V to 137.5V, making it compatible with 24V, 36V, and 110V systems. For enhanced functionality, it can be configured with 4G/LTE (with UMTS/GSM fallback), enabling precise GNSS capabilities.
