Embedded Computer Digitalizes Conventional Rehabilitation Therapy
Mirror therapy tricks the patients’ brain’s neuroplasticity, implemented to improve one’s motor function after a stroke. Initially, a mirror is used to fabricate a reflective illusion of the affected limb, creating positive visual feedback of its movements. Research has stated that as the motor cortex detects signs of potential relief, pain and paralysis were moderately reduced and improved.
The NDiS V1100 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1185G7E with a built-in Iris Xe Graphic-based fanless embedded system was selected for use in rehabilitation clinics to satisfy the requirement. This compact, powerful, embedded computer ensures utmost visual communication via a multi-display setup, convenient content management, and considerate customizable options.
The compact and fanless NDiS V1100 is a powerful embedded computer that offers the power to run the software for therapy. Instead of using mirrors, several modern clinics digitalize their equipment, connecting up to three cameras via three USB 3.0 ports to deliver real-time information. A further three USB 2.0 ports are used to perform maintenance through peripherals. A vibrant 4K@60Hz multi-display set of outputs is provided by the four on-board HDMI ports, three displaying the limb’s different angles and the other presenting data for the therapist. Depending on the circumstances, Wi-Fi or LAN manage content information conveniently throughout the database. Other essential features include one Intel® GbE LAN for high-speed control centre connection, one M.2 Key M for SSD, and one mini-PCIe slot for the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo module.
As with all our projects, long-term reliability is paramount; to fulfil users’ demands, customizable I/O and a robust mechanical design for better heat dissipation feature on the NDiS V1100. Beyond this, we can customize the BIOS feature customers’ logos, promoting brand consistency.
The NDiS V1100 is an excellent, silent, fanless computer, perfectly suited for the quiet clinical environment. While integrated neatly under screens, it handles clinical applications reliably and powerfully, delivering vivid 4K content to a multi-display setup. With the processing power in enabling AI applications, it enhances and strengthens the healthcare system of rehab clinics.
